Bringing Ancestral Stories to Motion. Culture on Every Commute.
Neftaly’s “Folk Story Video Installations for Public Transit” is a creative storytelling project that transforms buses, taxis, train stations, and transit shelters into immersive storytelling spaces. By displaying short, animated, and live-action folk tales on public screens, Neftaly revives the oral traditions of Africa—bringing culture, imagination, and language to the heart of daily travel.
Whether a grandmother’s wisdom shared through a proverb, or a myth told under a night sky, these stories find new life in modern spaces—reaching commuters of all ages with bite-sized legends, morals, and joy.
Why Public Transit?
Public transportation is where the nation meets: youth and elders, workers and students, rural and urban voices. It’s a space for reflection—and an untapped platform for cultural education.
Neftaly uses idle travel time as an opportunity to reconnect people with indigenous stories, traditions, and values in unexpected, engaging ways.
